Reports of New Weapons Deal Between Russia and Sudan

Recent reports in the media allege that the Russian Federation has sold 12 MiG-29 fighter jets to the Government of Sudan. Human Rights First has sent a letter to the Russian government asking it to clarify whether or not the sale was concluded and, if so, what steps the Russian government is taking to ensure that the fighter jets are not being used in Darfur in violation of the United Nations imposed Darfur arms embargo.
